Step by step

Pick the sacred cue
Pick a sound your cat never hears in any other context: a specific whistle, a particular bell, or an invented word. Never use it for anything else.

Charge the value via association
At home, calm: make the sound and IMMEDIATELY give the sacred treat (shrimp, tuna). The cat does nothing. Repeat 50 times across 2 weeks.

Surprise test
When he's in another room, make the sound. If he runs in: success. Mega-treat + happy voice.

Refresh 1-2× per month
To keep it active for the cat's lifetime: 1-2 cues per month, always with the extraordinary treat. Never use it for trivial things.
