Name recognition
The base of all communication with your cat.
Before any cue, your cat must learn that a specific sound (his name) means "look at me". Without this, everything else is background noise.

Pair name + reward
Say the name once in a happy voice. The moment he looks (even briefly), mark "yes" and treat. Repeat 5-10 times.

Increase distance
Repeat from another room or when he's distracted. If he comes or looks: premium treat.

Generalize
Practice at different times and contexts: playing, resting, eating. Never use the name to scold.
